  • NAME
viconf, viklines, vimotd -- safe editor for ircd-hybrid configuration files
  • SYNOPSIS

      viconf
  • DESCRIPTION

viconf is a program that locks the ircd.conf   file in /etc/ircd-hybrid for editing by a privileged user, to avoid   corruption if the ircd wishes to write to it as well.

viklines is simply viconf for ircd-hybrid's   klines.conf file. vimotd edits the ircd.motd.

The above commands are deprecated   because there is no   more valid   reason to have to lock ircd.conf or klines.conf for writing, since the   ircd does not write to these until it restarts or shuts down.

This manual page was written for the Debian distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.
  • OPTIONS

This program takes no command line arguments that   are available to a user.
