      karpski [ device ]
  • DESCRIPTION
      karpski is a Gtk-based sniffer/protocol analyzer.  It uses the libpcap library written by Van Jacobson and crew at ftp.ee.lbl.gov. The various protocols are defined in karpski's definition file, protocol_parser.dat. This file is written in my protocol description language which is in a state of flux.  Therefore, I will not describe this.
  • OPTIONS
      devicec
      Selects the device name (eg: eth0) which will be used to capture packets.
  • FILES
      protocol_parser.dat
      The protocol definition file.
      karpskirc
      The Gtk rc file for this app.
      capture_filters.dat
      The file containing the defined to-disk captures.
      smashy.dat
      Controls the launch applications.
      scanner.au
      The scanning sound.
      vendor_codes.dat
      A recent set of vendor codes for every NIC.
      NEWS
      A log of the recent changes.
      INSTALL
      The installation document.
      README
      Semi-complete documentation.
      TODO.TXT
      Things I am considering changing / improving.
      LICENSE.TXT
      The GPL license.  READ THIS!
